Kim teaches piano to students of all ages and skill levels at her centrally-located Tacoma studio. Contact her to discuss the possibility of joining her studio!
Kim takes an individualized approach to each student. She loves to challenge students to their full capacity, and works to develop well-rounded musicians who have an understanding of theory and history, strong reading skills, and the ability to collaborate with other musicians as well as perform as soloists. Recital and competition opportunities are provided as appropriate, from performances in her studio to other venues in the region.
Kim also teaches a range of music courses at the University of Washington, Tacoma and University of Puget Sound. She is the author of a textbook for use in non-major music courses, Learning to Listen, released in May 2023 by Kendall Hunt Publishing Co.
